Is anybody out there??

So there has been a noticeable lack of comments on my most recent blog posts lately, which leads me to wonder if anyone is actually reading this....if you are out there, give me a shout! Otherwise I may be forced to spend my time doing more productive things, like sleeping.

Anyhoo...here's what's going on with us lately.

THE PUPPIES ARE ALL GONE! We sold the last puppy on Sunday so now our household is back to normal! (Well, as "normal" as it can be i suppose, given the fact that there is a 16 month old maniac child, 1 possessed cat, 1 moody cat, 1 moody male, 2 hyperactive dogs, and a perfect, flawless woman living here). It was a good thing we sold the dogs, because we have to use all puppy profit to pay for repairs around our ever-breaking house. First, the dryer stops drying. My "fix-it-all" husband is still in the process of fixing that, or so he says. Then, the fix-it-all husband puts a dent in the sheetrock in the hallway. Then, Mr. Fix-It-All steps through the ceiling in our room while in the attic attempting to fix the dryer. Oh, and then the AC went out. That was no fault of Mr. Fix-It-All. So the AC is now fixed, after a MISERABLE weekend which made us feel like we were living in a tent. The dryer will be fixed hopefully before we move out of this house someday. The sheetrock? Who knows...

The husband and I got back last Friday from our mini-vacation to Chicago. I had some training to do there for work, so Ryan came along to get away for a few days. Parker stayed with Grams and Gramps and Grammie and Papa, so we were confident he was well taken care of (and extra-spoiled!) We stayed about 30 miles north of Chicago, so we actually only went into the city 2 of the nights we were there. On Monday we went downtown to catch a Cubs game at Wrigley - amazing! Any real baseball fan should make it a goal to see a game at Wrigley Field someday! To get downtown we took the train....anyone who knows me well may know that I have a fear of trains, so this was a big step for me. Trains are big, loud, and fast and one screw up will knock those things right off their tracks which scares the crap outta me!

Here's Ryan enjoying the train ride to Chicago Union Station.

....and here I am on that same train ride.

The views from our seats at Wrigley.

That infamous "Wrigley Field" sign. Some homeless guy offered to take a pic of the two of us together beneath the sign, but we weren't falling for that.

We thought about wearing our Astros shirts, but decided our lives mean more to us than the Astros do.

Thursday night we went back to downtown Chicago to Navy Pier to eat at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. and do the "tourist" thing. The Chicago skyline was absolutely stunning from that vantage point.

Ryan refused to ride the ferris wheel with me. Wimp.
Since returning from Chicago Parker has been full of energy and rambunctious as ever. I think he's trying to make up for lost time and cram all his energy from last week that we missed out on into this week. Here's what happens when you let a 16 month old and his daddy dress the kid.

The shorts on the head? Those were Daddy's idea. Mommy's bra as a necklace? That was all Parker.

Alright, that's all for this update. I will try to get those cats to stay on top of updating more regularly. It's not like they have anything else to do. :)

Until next time,
Sarah

I think I'd be more afraid to ride that farris wheel than the train!!!

Parker looks wicked with that bra around his neck... I think he actually knows what it is... he's just too smart for his britches!
