THE SCREAMING HAS FINALLY STOPPED!!

Howdy kiddos! Sadie here, bringing you this week's installment of the Weishuhn Cat Chatter. Boy has it ever been a rough week at our house. Parker was sick with a virus called herpangina, and it made every living being in our house COMPLETELY MISERABLE. The baby was overly fussy, had a fever, and didn't want to eat due to the blisters that were lining his throat. This went on from Sunday until Thursday. Finally Thursday night the little screamer slept through the night again, after 4 nights of waking up at least every 2 hours screaming bloody murder. Sarah and Ryan suffered from sleep deprivation for the first time in months, reminding them that they are nowhere near being ready for another newborn. What an excellent form of birth control this virus proved to be! Lexi and I tried to sleep through all the madness, but that was virtually impossible. When Parker is awake, EVERYONE is awake. We are all finally getting more rest again though, thankfully. We'd hate to get less than our standard 19 hours of sleep per day!

Since Parker is finally feeling better, he is back on the solid foods for the first time since Sunday. Sarah decided to chronicle the occasion with a short video of feeding time. This video makes it pretty obvious that Parker just LOVES peas (insert overly sarcastic tone here...).

And here are Lexi and I supervising the mealtime. (OK, so maybe it was just Lexi supervising. I was exhausted....so sue me.)

And here I am blocking the back door to make sure those smelly dogs don't get into my house.

Ok, so that's all for now. Until next time....

She's all grown up...

...and MARRIED! My little sister Megan got married on Saturday in what turned out to be an exciting and exhausting day. I won't write much tonight because I'm still tired from the weekend and have been battling a sick Parker for the past 2 days (he has herpangina, aka Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus). But I at least wanted to post a few pictures courtesy of Stephanie Parry (gracias Stephanie!). Hopefully I'll have more pictures sometime soon, even though my camera never left the friendly confines of my purse all day Saturday. (I'm HORRIBLE about taking pictures at important events!) Megan was an absolutely astonishing bride, and her handsome beau was beaming all day long! I love you guys and hope you are enjoying your time in Grand Cayman as I'm writing this!

Our little Meggy-poo getting ready.

The "Formerly Mueller" girls [this pic will serve as my motivation to a) grow my hair out, b)wear less eye makeup, c) work hard to drop about 15 pounds, and d) buy stock in sunless tanner]

They are married! Megan and Jason Demshar!

I'll let the cats take the reigns again next week, and hopefully they'll have some fun pics or video of Parker to share. This week he's just in no mood for pictures or videos (would YOU be in the mood if you had a fever of 103 and had blisters lining the inside of your mouth??)

Until next time.....

Our days as free cats are numbered

Well we are finally back. It's been a while since Sarah really gave us the reigns and let us write what we want, but she's given us a chance tonight. But we'll try to keep it somewhat short and sweet, because we have several pictures and even a couple of videos to share.
The little person is now 6 months old. Longest 6 months of our lives, but the grown up humans say it has flown by. Perhaps if they just had to sit around and sleep, eat, and bathe all day they would feel like life was a little slower paced. Parker had his 6 month check up today and we have to say that we dread the day he is able to catch us. The kid simply WILL NOT stop growing! Today he weighed in at 21 pounds, 8 ounces, and is 27 inches long. So, since he was born he has put on about 12 pounds and 6 inches. He still ranks in the 95th percentile for weight, and is now in about the 85th to 90th percentile for length. His head circumference is also in the 95th percentile, so the kid is pretty much in proportion. No monster melons on that one! He got 3 shots at the doctor's visit today, but thanks to a precautionary dose of Tylenol he is currently lying in his crib babbling himself to sleep. The grown ups are trying not to rock him to sleep every night anymore, as this could lead to awkwardness once he becomes a teenager. We are pretty sure that by that time he'll be so big that he can rock his mommy and daddy to sleep. Plus, if someone happens to come over one night and Ryan is rocking a 13 year old in the rocking chair...CPS may possibly be called.
Anyway, Parker is VERY CLOSE to being able to crawl, at which point we will no longer be so visible or accessible. Already he can only be lured into scooting by a couple of things....a remote control across the room, or a cat across the room. Put one of those things within view of that kid and LOOKOUT! He can move at break-neck speed to get to what he wants. Ok, so maybe he's not THAT fast, but he really can move! Here's a video to prove our point. In this video you can see that the lure is a remote control (Thanks Sarah for not holding us down so he could catch us.)

Here are some 6 month pictures of Parker with the infamous monkey. That monkey looks smaller and smaller everytime they take a new picture of him with it! And it's getting a little harder for them to get Parker to sit still to take the monkey pictures. We found this pretty entertaining, so we are including several pictures that they ended up with after the whole ordeal.

And finally, back by popular demand.....here's another installment of "Parker's storytime"!

Until next time,
