Firsts and Last

So it's been awhile since I caught you all up on what's going on with us - I apologize for the delay. Things are getting busy with Christmas right around the corner and Parker's 1st birthday only 9 days after that. I'll try to clue you in on what's been happening with us (and I hope to not bore you too much!)
Parker survived his first Thanksgiving and of course wanted to eat everything that was on everyone else's plates. He's very fond of mashed potatoes, and we found out he thinks dressing is pretty darn good too. He wasn't real sure about the turkey, but since he is lacking in the teeth department we didn't give him ample opportunity to try that.
Speaking of teeth...THE COUNT IS UP TO 3! He has both of his bottom middle teeth and one of his top front teeth has broken through. We can tell that the other top front tooth should be breaking through anytime now. Preliminary findings suggest that Parker inherited his mama's teeth....sorry kid. We will start saving now for your braces.
Another first - Parker had his first haircut! We didn't cut a whole lot, April just mainly trimmed up the back and cut the long hair that was growing over his ears and driving me nuts. I knew at any time people would start coming up and saying "Aww, what a cute little girl you have!" I couldn't let that happen, so we opted for the haircut before the first birthday. He did surprisingly well for the event - I held him in my lap and let him play with my Blackberry and he sat still enough for April to give him a straight cut. Once he loses interest in that Blackberry I think we'll be in trouble...
Yet another first....Parker made his very first phone call on a REAL phone to a REAL person (not just that lady who comes on and says "You're call cannot be completed as dialed, please hang up and try your call again." - he has called that lady about a million times already). Nope, just the other day Parker dialed up a real person. He was playing with the phone and I saw that the screen said "Talk" so I took the phone from him as usual and hung it up. I didn't hear his lady friend's voice, so I hit redial to see just who he called (thought maybe he had hit Redial then talk). I found that Parker called the following number...91142876325648. Notice those first 3 numbers..... A mere 5 seconds later my phone rang, caller ID said "Fayette County". Yep, it was Mr. Dispatcher Man and he wanted to know if there was an emergency since 911 had just been called from this location. I laughed and apologized and said that my 1 year old son was playing with the phone and somehow managed to dial 911 and then hit "talk". He giggled and said that that is one gifted 1 year old. I apologized again and he told me to have a nice day. If Parker is dialing 911 when he's less than 1 year old....what the hell is he going to be doing when he's 4 or 5????
I only have one real "Last" for this post....Parker will be 1 in just a couple weeks. We think we may have possibly bought our LAST can of formula - HELL YEAH! We are certain we will soon be feeling the effects of our "raise"!
Here's a couple pictures of all the fun Parker had at Grammie's and Papa's house while we were housesitting for 2 weeks. He had LOTS of fun stuff to play in!
The girls also had a great time staying at Grammie's and Papa's...
Isn't this the cutest kid you've ever seen?? Don't you just want to give him everything he asks for??

Even with the world's worst case of bed head, the kid is freakin cute...

And finally, a little video. Parker has figured out how to clap all by himself, so now he does it all the time. The video is of the first time he did it.

Alrighty. Now you're all caught up. Hopefully I'll get time to post again before the new year! Merry Christmas everyone!

PRICELESS!

This is WAAAAAAAAAY BETTER than monkeys riding motorcycles or even Dubya dodging a pair of size 10 loafers! (Sorry for the crappy quality, hope you can see it well enough to enjoy it... and yes, he was totally asleep!)

More to come...

Quick Update

No folks, we have not fallen off the face of the earth. We are housesitting for Parker's Grammie and Papa while they are on vacation. So, I don't have my camera USB out here to upload pics or video. Look for a new update with new pics and maybe even a video next week when we are back at our own house!

Upstaged

Hi everyone, it's Parker. I just wanted to post a real quick entry just to say that I'm a little teed off. You see, I am the oldest cousin. My cousin Landon is 6 months younger than me, and my cousin Annelise is still in my Aunt Laura's tummy doing some growing. Being that I'm the oldest, I should be the FIRST to do everything. Well NO....that darn Landon has upstaged me! I FINALLY got my first tooth a few weeks ago, and wouldn't you know it, now Landon has gotten not only his first tooth, but also his second tooth. And here I am, still waiting for my second tooth to poke through. It's not fair, I tell ya! Here is Landon getting all these teeth and he is still too young to eat real grown up food. I'm old enough for the steak and potatoes, but my mommy and daddy won't give me steak yet since I only have one tooth to try to chew it with. (But they do give me potatoes, and I do LOVE ME SOME POTATOES!) Well guess what Landon, I'm still bigger than you and can beat you in a crawling race any day!

You could probably tell from the last thing the kitties wrote that my mommy and daddy love to embarass me. Well, here is some more proof. If only I could dial the phone (and actually talk in grown up language), I would call CPS on these two in no time at all!
Mommy thought I was looking especially adorable this morning just sitting so patiently while she and daddy got ready for church. So she took a picture of me being such a good boy. I rewarded her with a tongue-filled smile for the camera.
I don't really have anything else to say today, and it's about my bedtime anyway, so I'll just leave you with a couple of movies of me.

Have you ever seen a kid go from perky to pissed off in a matter of seconds??? All my mommy and daddy have to do is give me my little 4-wheeler and BOY DOES THAT THING MAKE ME MAD! See....

Also, I found these new fun toys in the kitchen. Mommy keeps telling daddy that he needs to "baby-proof" them so I don't pull something out and end up hurting myself. I don't know what "baby-proofing" is, but I hope daddy never does it! Also, I am speaking in my secret Parker language in the video. No one will ever know what I am saying....

Alright people, I'm out for now. Happy Turkey Day to you all - hopefully these crazy grown ups will actually let me taste some!

Monkey business

Ok, we are convinced. Our humans have completely FLIPPED THEIR LIDS.
CAN YOU BELIEVE that humans PURPOSELY dress their miniatures up in get-ups like this?

Seriously, check out the look of despair in that poor kid's eyes.

But wait....it gets weirder. As if ONE small person dressed as an animal wasn't enough...a little while later we glanced outside and saw this.....

Yes, that's right, 2 small children dressed as animals. That's Parker's friend Mason, although if we were Mason we are sure we wouldn't be friends with Parker anymore if it meant having to get dressed up in a ridiculous outfit to get to see him.

AND THEN all 3 humans left for a while and we are told that while they were gone they found this.....That's a turkey, my friends. Parker's cousin Landon dressed as a turkey. Poor guy is only 4 months old and could not even effectively protest the madness.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE??? We are SO, SO, SO thankful that they didn't get ahold of any strange outfits in our sizes! We definitely would have been scarred for life.

So there's been a big to-do around here in the past few days because Parker FINALLY got a tooth. Well guess what people...we were BORN with teeth. That's right, 26 of 'em, in perfect working order. Did anyone make a big fuss about that when we were born? Nope. Absolutely not. When will you people learn that we cats really are superior to your species!?!? We don't have any pictures of the tiny tooth to share, because the little monster HATES for anyone to try to look or feel in his mouth. But we promise, there's a tooth there. One tiny tooth. Right there on the bottom. Whoopedeedoo.

That kid keeps us laughing though. He has learned to dance. That's all he does anymore. Music or no music, the kid is constantly dancing. We shot this video as proof. (Ok, so it is entirely possible that he is making a nice little present during the shooting of this video, but he never gave up the dancing in the process. Perhaps the dancing actually helped to "move things along" a little better??!?!) And yes, we realize that he is dancing on a pole. Keep your filthy jokes to yourselves (especially you, Uncle Cody, Uncle Jason and Uncle Russell).

Ok, that's all we got for this week.

Until next time,

The Weishuhn Cats

Making up for lost time

Ok, so yeah, it's been a while. Life gets hectic. The days run out of hours. It happens.

Since the last post.....
Let me introduce you to my future daughter-in-law, Miss Harlee Dianne Hayek. Parker's little girlfriend was born on October 16th and weighed in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces. He is a little timid around her right now, but someday he'll open up around her, I'm sure!

This picture will someday be shown on the jumbotron at Kyle Field, when Parker starts for the Texas A&M football team. Whoop! ("Put me in coach, I'm ready to play...")

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25TH: THE MAIN EVENT - PARKER vs. THE NIGHTSTAND It's fairly obvious who the winner was...

"V-Smile Baby?" no thanks. "Barney videos?" who needs 'em? "Tonka dump truck with jumbo legos?" BORING. "Toilet paper rolls?" NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN 'BOUT!
(apparently toilet paper also has opioid properties that serve to make a baby appear stoned out of his mind)

We grown ups got a much needed break from babyland on Sunday and headed to Houston to watch the Texans play the Bengals. The Texans won big (can't remember the score), and we had a great time just being grown ups with our friends!

Ryan, Ryan and Cody

Me, Laura and Karissa tailgating with Miller Lite before the game

We decided to try Parker's Halloween costume on him to make sure it would work for his very first Halloween. He tolerated it for about 2 1/2 minutes. I'll try to get some better pictures of our little monkey on Halloween.

Parker is learning how to wave "bye-bye" when someone says bye-bye to him. I got this short video of it. Sorry it's from behind him, but if he had seen the camera he would have been trying to eat the camera instead of waving. (he also gives you a sneak-peek at his mad dancing skills in the middle of the video. anytime you say "Dancy, dancy" he shakes his little booty and dances. The next Fred Astaire? Nah, probably just the next Ryan Weishuhn...poor kid. anyone who has seen Ryan dance knows what I'm talking about.)

AND FINALLY.... while downloading pics for this post I came across a pic of Parker from a year ago. I'll put it with one from now...my how he's grown! (cue sappy sentimental music, and get me a kleenex!)

Ok, that's all for now.
Until next time,
Sarah

Adventures in MEAT

First of all, we'd like to say that we are still trying to adjust to having one little noise box in our house. Why, then, did Sarah insist on allowing THIS to happen a couple of weeks ago??

Yup, that's ANOTHER miniature person IN OUR HOUSE! I tried to give her the stare-down and intimidate her into leaving...it only made her more intrigued by me.
Her name is Ella, and she's one of Parker's girlfriends. He will have lots of girlfriends, since girls are the only thing that seem to be being born anymore. (Except for Parker's homeboys Mason and Landon, of course!)

Anyway, Sarah likes to call me a "bed hog" because I insist on sharing her pillow with her when she sleeps at night. I entered the room the other night to find THIS....that kid learns fast!
In no time at all we shall succeed in ridding that room of grown ups all together!
And yes, that clock in the background says 4:48. Yes, that is in the morning. Yes, the lady human and we felines were up at that time. And it was a Saturday morning. We have lost our damn minds.
So Parker is expanding his diet these days. He's now eating cheerios (he has only choked a couple times so far, so now they are being broken in half before he gets them), and has been introduced to the wonderful world of baby foods containing MEAT. We think they smell simply scrumptious. We think he disagrees. Here's what happened on his first experience with turkey with rice and mixed vegetables.

Stay tuned to future posts for his opinion of beef and chicken.

Well alrighty, that's all I have for now. I've been up and around for approximately 27 minutes now, so it's about time for another catnap.

Until next time,

Lexi Lou

OWWWWWIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE!!!

Hi! It's me, Parker! My mommy told me that a friend of hers (who shall remain nameless, but she says her name rhymes with Schmecky Schmagarr) once tried to get rid of my Aunt Heather's cats by hiding them in a box while no one was looking. Since I wanted to speak my mind tonight, I decided I'd give her trick a try. I only have a little while before those cats break free and realize that I have hijacked their blog, so I'd better make this quick...

I AM A BIG, GROWING BOY! I turned 9 MONTHS OLD on Friday, and so today my mommy and my Grammie took me to Giddings to visit my girlfriend Dr. Amy. She always tells me I'm SO HANDSOME, and who could argue with her??? Sometimes Dr. Amy is not my friend, like when she makes me be still so she can look in my ears, or when she makes me open my mouth so she can look in there. I try to promise her that I am NOT stashing away food in either of those places, but she insists on looking anyway. Today the doctor told us that I weigh 23 pounds and 9 ounces and I am 28.5 inches long. I am such a pro at growing! Since I was born, I have gained almost 14 pounds and have grown 7.5 inches! If any of you little babies out there need tips on how to become big and strong, just hit me up! After I flirted with Dr. Amy for a while she left the room and sent in another lady. This lady does NOT want to be friends with me! First she made my mommy and my Grammie hold me down while she stuck a needle in my arm and pulled out some of my blood - OUCH! I protested as loud as I could, but she did it anyway! She says they are making sure my blood counts are ok and that I don't have high levels of lead in my blood. Apparently it's normal to torture babies like this when they are my age. When it was finally over, I was just beginning to calm down when she made them hold me down again. I knew this was going to be bad news when YOW! SHE STUCK A NEEDLE IN MY CHUNKY THIGH THIS TIME! This time she pushed some stuff INTO my skin instead of pulling blood out! I don't know why these people insisted on hurting me today! I cried for a little while, but was quiet by the time we got out to the car. I was so glad my mommy and my Grammie got me the heck outta that place!

My cousin Landon got baptized yesterday. I'm so glad HE was the one getting water dumped on his head this time! I remember when that man dumped water on my head and BOY WAS I MAD! Landon was NOT happy about the water either. Here's a picture, but you can't tell that he was crying.

My mommy hasn't taken any embarassing pictures of me lately, so I thought it may be about time to share some embarassing pictures of Landon. My Aunt Heather sent these to mommy today - they are of Landon's first day back at day care. After seeing these, I sure am glad that I don't go to a day care, because they do WEIRD THINGS there!

A couple of final things...I want to give a shout out to my new homegirl Reisy Day Janca, who was born last week Thursday. Mommy says she is SO CUTE and that I'll definitely like her when I get older. Now I am just waiting for my other girlfriend prospect, Baby Girl Hayek, to be born sometime very soon! And mommy says that she'd like all of you to pray for the family of her former boss and friend, Kelley Oliphint. Kelley passed away Sunday evening from brain cancer, and he was only 42 years old. He leaves behind a wife and a 10 year old son and TONS of friends.

I guess I'd better go let those cats out of the box now before they get a chance to plot their evil revenge against me!

Until next time,

Parker

The Blabber Mouth and the Belly Laughs

I finally got a couple of new good videos of Parker. The first one is his new blabbering that his Aunt Megan says she didn't teach him, but I think she really did. Either she did or his Uncle Jason did. Parker has been doing this NON-STOP since he spent the day with those 2 crazy kids last weekend. (and close to the beginning of the video i can just picture him with heavy gold chains flung around his neck and a mohawk and spouting off "I pity tha fool who don't give me that camera!" The look of frustration and disappointment on his face is blatantly obvious.)

I have been trying FOREVER to get a good video of Parker belly laughing. It took his Grammie coming over today to get him to finally do it. He tends to squeal a little bit when he gets excited about something. And who would have thought that a pillow attack would be so funny?!?!

I FINALLY have a weekend off from school and work, so I'm off to do some relaxing!

Until next time,

Sarah

Aging and Accomplishments

So it's been a little while since we updated, and in the interest of limited time and busy schedules, we will try to keep this one short and to the point. Here's what's been going on for the past week in our house.

The man human is getting OLD. Yesterday was his 30TH birthday! The lady human and baby human wanted to remind him that even though he's pretty ancient, he still can be a kid at heart, so they bought him something called a Playstation 3. Now the lady human thinks she may see a lot less of the man human helping out with the baby human, since he has a newfound obsession. Here's Parker playing with his favorite part of the present.

Last week the grown ups traveled to Corpus Christi so Sarah could do her clinical fundamentals check-offs and health assessment for nursing school. We are told everything went great and that she is now doing clinicals every other weekend at St. Mark's Medical Center in La Grange. So she's working there for 40 hours a week and doing clinicals there for 25 hours every other weekend. We're going to miss seeing her around. (but maybe since she won't be around that little fella won't be around as much either, and we can finally sleep in peace for once!)
Sorry this post is so short and uneventful...if anything exciting happens in our world in the next few days we'll be sure to update you!
Until then,
Lexi and Sadie

Please fasten your safety belt and keep your arms inside the vehicle at all times...

Disclaimer: This will probably be a lengthy entry. Enter at your own risk!
WOW....WHAT A RIDE! This week has been a crazy rollercoaster and has convinced me that I am absolutely a Type A personality. I never realized just how much I favor organization and a schedule until this week. I went through a rollercoaster of feelings from day to day. Let me explain....
SUNDAY - feeling of the day: crafty
So for some reason last Sunday I had the urge to be crafty. I'm invited to a couple of baby showers and was tired of giving the same ol' gifts, so I decided to try my hand at making diaper cakes. Not too shabby, if I may say so myself! Here are the two that I have completed thus far...
Overall I thought this was not a bad start to my week.

MONDAY - feeling of the day: organized
On Monday I had my schedule for the whole week all worked out. I'd work Monday-Thursday, Ryan and I would travel to Corpus Christi on Thursday night, we'd stay there Friday night and head back to LaGrange Saturday evening. For those of you who don't know, I am currently working on my Bachelor's in Nursing degree in a self-paced, online program through Texas A&M Corpus Christi. The only thing standing between me and starting my clinicals is a quick trip to Corpus to meet with my instructor to a) do a medication administration check-off and b) do a head-to-toe health assessment on an adult "patient" (Ryan) from memory and complete the appropriate documentation afterwards. I've been nervous and anxious about the assessment for weeks, but finally I was feeling like I was prepared. So on Friday I'd do the medication check-off and have some practice time in the lab with my instructor on other nursing skills. Saturday morning we'd go up to the school and complete the assessment with documentation and get back on the road and be back in LaGrange by dinnertime.
Enter Hurricane Ike.
TUESDAY - feeling of the day: anxious
Tuesday started with me watching pretty much every single online news outlet and getting all of their predictions on what Hurricane Ike was going to do. They all agreed. Ike was heading straight for Corpus, but shouldn't get there until early Saturday morning. But wait, I'M SUPPOSED TO BE IN CORPUS EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. dammit. what now? several emails and phone calls later, me and my advisor decide that we can cram everything we need to do into one day. So Ryan and I will travel to Corpus Wednesday night, do my thing Thursday, and get out of town Thursday night while Ike is still out in the gulf, slowly churning towards land. Disaster averted.
WEDNESDAY - feeling of the day: pissed off
Still checking radar and various weather outlets frequently. Ike is not turning. Ike is strengthening. And still on course for Corpus. They are predicting a bad, bad storm. Yikes, should I reschedule my trip? I DON'T WANT TO RESCHEDULE MY TRIP! I WANT TO GET THIS MESS OVER WITH ALREADY SO I CAN START MY CLINICALS! Later in the morning I get an email from my advisor..."Sarah, I think we'd better reschedule. This looks too serious to mess with." Well sonofa....doesn't this beast of nature know that I FAVOR ORGANIZATION AND STRUCTURE??? Ok fine, he wins. I'll reschedule. I reschedule for this coming week Wednesday. We will travel to Corpus Tuesday night, do my thing all day Wednesday, and head back Wednesday night. YIPPEE!! MORE TIME TO GET ANXIOUS AND FREAK OUT AND WONDER IF I'M PREPARED! I LOVE MOTHER NATURE! To put it bluntly...Mother Nature, you are a b#*ch.
THURSDAY - feeling of the day: worried
Weather man said on Wednesday night that if Ike stayed on his current course the eye could be expected to pass directly over LaGrange Saturday afternoon. WHAT?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? A category 1 hurricane directly over my house. Neat. What else yet?? I call my mom and ask if I should be joining the rest of the crazies at the store stocking up on bottled water, flashlights, batteries and canned meat. She assures me that this storm is going to turn - they always do. I'm reluctant to believe her, but I do anyway. She's always right, after all. Yet still, I have an uneasy feeling the entire day. My house has flooded before, and it didn't take a hurricane to do it. I decide to just put batteries in the flashlights I have and finally take the weather radio I won in a raffle out of the box and put some batteries in it too. Bring it on Ike.
FRIDAY - feeling of the day: disappointed
I check the news outlets Friday morning to find out that Ike has, of course, changed his path. He's now headed straight for Galveston and Houston. But LaGrange is still predicted to get some tropical storm force winds and 2-4 inches of rain. Ok, that's fine. I'll take your wind and your rain. But did you have to prematurely ruin my trip to Corpus? Ryan and I end the night battening down the hatches and put Parker in bed with us just incase things turn ugly.
SATURDAY - feeling of the day: disbelief
Ryan and I wake up Saturday morning and look outside to see what kind of devastation we have been handed. And we see...NOTHING. NOT A DAMN THING. the ground is dry and there is a balmy breeze a blowin. That's all. Later in the day we get 10 sprinkles of rain and then the humidity jumps to at least 250% and the temperature soars to upwards of 160 degrees. Or so it seems. All of this preparation and anxiety and this is all we get. Ike....I HATE YOU.
SUNDAY - feelings of the day: lazy and forgetful
Parker and I went to lunch with my mom and stepdad and Heather, Russell and Landon. As we finish our meal I realize that I cannot find my keys. They are nowhere. We check and double-check the diaperbag, my pockets, the table, the car seat, the floor. They are nowhere to be found. I KNOW I brought them in with me - I had them in my pocket. and now they are gone. isn't that special? I go to the counter to ask if anyone has turned in a set of keys and I see them laying there. So i grab 'em and make sure they are to my car. They are. apparently they fell out of my pocket at some point. Finally we can leave. We go back to my mom's and spend a lazy afternoon watching a movie. Then we come home and are hanging out outside when Ryan's dad calls. "Just wondering if y'all are coming over here"..."over where?"..."To Katie's for Brynn's birthday party." CRAP!!! I TOTALLY FORGOT! I'm tellin' ya, if there is not an invitation hanging on my fridge i'm not going to remember the event. We throw together a diaper bag and i throw my hair in a cap (I look like total poop at this point) and we head to the party. We stay for a little over an hour before heading home to give parker his bath and get him to bed. Bathtime is always exciting in our house. Parker LOVES to make a mess. Here's some proof (this is NOT kiddie porn...please don't turn me in)

So here we are...ready to start another week...I think. This week I'll be praying for the strength to get through my Corpus stuff without going insane, and for all of those people who didn't fare so well with Hurricane Ike. Hope you'll be doing the same.

Until next time,

Sarah

just another day

Parker-isms

Well well....it's been quite some time since we updated, and boy, you humans sure do get impatient when a blog is not updated weekly like you expect it to be! Maybe you all should work while you are at work instead of checking up on us!

Things have been relatively calm at our place since we last wrote. Well, calm for us at least! The lady human has been STRESSING OUT over something called nursing school. The man human has been putting in extra hours at work. And the little human....he is EVERYWHERE! Although he's not walking yet, he has mastered the ability to crawl on all fours. We were able to do that within hours of our birth...it's taken him more than 7 months. Yet the grown up humans are in awe over this. We don't understand your kind....

A couple of things the kid has NOT figured out yet...what the heck he's supposed to do with a sippy cup, and how to cut a tooth. He will be 8 months old tomorrow (WHERE THE HECK DID THE TIME GO?!?!) and still hasn't a single chomper in that mouth of his. The grown ups think it may not be a bad thing if he never gets teeth, because surely a set of dentures is cheaper than braces are. And since Sarah had jacked up teeth when she was young, she's not holding out much hope that Parker's will be perfect (unless he happened to inherit his daddy's nice, straight teeth). And as far as sippy cups go....the poor fella has no clue what he's supposed to do with it. In the mouth, out of the mouth. Pour some on the floor. Chew on the bottom of the cup. Repeat.

Parker went to his first ever parade with the grown ups on Saturday for the Fayette County Fair. Here is a picture of him with his Grannie (Sarah's Grannie, so technically Parker's "Great-Grannie", but we don't call her that because it would make her seem old, and she is NOT old!)

Oh, and for the record, Parker's daddy made him wear the hat...
And here's a pic of Parker with his daddy after the parade was over.

We will leave you this week with several Parker videos of Parker just being Parker...enjoy the Parker-isms!

"PARKER THE SPEED RACER"

Up close and personal...

Who'da thought a kid with no teeth would love pickles so much???

Alrighty, that's all for this week. We will write more next week....maybe.

Until then,

Los Gatos

Can his energy be bottled???

Howdy folks! I'm going to do a quick update this week and give the girls the week off. They have had a VERY busy day...full of lounging on the guest bed, trying to eat my church flowers from yesterday, eating, lounging on the guest bed, trying to eat the flowers, trying to eat the ribbon on a balloon left from my birthday, bathing, and trying to eat the church flowers. They have not been successful in eating the flowers though - I moved them to my bathroom and shut the door. I'm pretty sure they hate me for it.

I spent the day at home today with Parker because Cindy needed to go in to work and do some things. Parker's other Grammie was in Round Rock taking care of Landon while Heather had a teacher inservice which she tells me was an ABSOLUTE BLAST. So I took the day off and spent it at home with my little monster. After a full day at home with him, I am just spent. The kid has what is seemingly an endless supply of energy. I had to run a few errands while Ryan was home at lunch, and I'm beginning to wonder if Ryan didn't slip part of an energy drink into Parker's bottle that he gave him while he was here. Parker was up and ready to start the day at 6:15 this morning. This is NOT ok. I gave him a bottle, put him in bed with Ryan and I, and crossed my fingers and prayed that he'd fall back asleep. NO SUCH LUCK. He drank half his bottle and proceeded to climb over Ryan and I like we are his personal jungle gyms. So we got up. We were watching Barney at 7:30 this morning. There is something wrong with that picture! I could tell that by about 9 he was in need of a nap. Nope. I put him in his crib, left the room, and came back a few minutes later to find this...

This happened 3 times before I gave up on the idea that he'd go to sleep. It is now 5:19....Parker is FINALLY asleep in his crib, but he's only been that way for 20 minutes. This is the second nap he has had today. The first one lasted a whole 20 minutes. Let's hope this one lasts a little longer. The kid just has no interest in sleeping. He gets that from his daddy.
SONOFA....there goes the crying. I spoke to damn soon. GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, babysitter Barney is on it. That buys me a little time to finish this before he realizes I'm not in the room and gets very impatient with me. There's not a whole lot else going on with us right now. This week's video shows a couple of Parker's latest past-times - standing up and making noises. Yes, those noises you hear are him, and they are coming out of his mouth, not from another area. There is a constant chorus in our house of this noise coming from the little monster. Another of his favorite new activities....undoing the velcro from one side of his diaper. That's a fun one. So far he hasn't dribbled any "presents" throughout the house because of this new fun activity, but there have been some very close calls.

Alrighty, I'm about out of time. Any minute now I expect to be summoned from the living room. In conclusion I'd like to say that stay-at-home moms are a breed of their own and deserve an award for what they put up with all day!

Until next time...

The Many Faces of Parker

We thought this week we'd share several pictures of the little person. These pictures show how the chunky monkey's personality is evolving. Here are some taken recently."Don't all kids put their sweet potatoes in their hair???"
*******************************************************

"I think I'd like to eat that camera..."

*******************************************************

"You can call me by my alter-ego's name...Toothless Elmer."

**************************************************************

"If I can just reach a little bit farther...."

*********************************************************

Toothless Elmer finds his toes.

"How could anyone ever get mad at this face????"

***************************************************

We felines of the house have been on edge lately. Look at the small guy's new trick...

With this latest development we are certain that we are no longer safe. In no time at all we will be a distant memory to our humans, as we will no longer make ourselves visible when that kid learns to walk. Even worse....what the heck do we do when he learns to RUN???

Here we are hanging out by the back door...praying that it falls off its hinges so that we can make our escape from the madness that has become our lives.

Ok, that's all for this time. No doctor's appointment for Parker at 7 months so no new stats to share. The kid is huge...take our word for it.

Until next time,

THE SCREAMING HAS FINALLY STOPPED!!

Howdy kiddos! Sadie here, bringing you this week's installment of the Weishuhn Cat Chatter. Boy has it ever been a rough week at our house. Parker was sick with a virus called herpangina, and it made every living being in our house COMPLETELY MISERABLE. The baby was overly fussy, had a fever, and didn't want to eat due to the blisters that were lining his throat. This went on from Sunday until Thursday. Finally Thursday night the little screamer slept through the night again, after 4 nights of waking up at least every 2 hours screaming bloody murder. Sarah and Ryan suffered from sleep deprivation for the first time in months, reminding them that they are nowhere near being ready for another newborn. What an excellent form of birth control this virus proved to be! Lexi and I tried to sleep through all the madness, but that was virtually impossible. When Parker is awake, EVERYONE is awake. We are all finally getting more rest again though, thankfully. We'd hate to get less than our standard 19 hours of sleep per day!

Since Parker is finally feeling better, he is back on the solid foods for the first time since Sunday. Sarah decided to chronicle the occasion with a short video of feeding time. This video makes it pretty obvious that Parker just LOVES peas (insert overly sarcastic tone here...).

And here are Lexi and I supervising the mealtime. (OK, so maybe it was just Lexi supervising. I was exhausted....so sue me.)

And here I am blocking the back door to make sure those smelly dogs don't get into my house.

Ok, so that's all for now. Until next time....

She's all grown up...

...and MARRIED! My little sister Megan got married on Saturday in what turned out to be an exciting and exhausting day. I won't write much tonight because I'm still tired from the weekend and have been battling a sick Parker for the past 2 days (he has herpangina, aka Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus). But I at least wanted to post a few pictures courtesy of Stephanie Parry (gracias Stephanie!). Hopefully I'll have more pictures sometime soon, even though my camera never left the friendly confines of my purse all day Saturday. (I'm HORRIBLE about taking pictures at important events!) Megan was an absolutely astonishing bride, and her handsome beau was beaming all day long! I love you guys and hope you are enjoying your time in Grand Cayman as I'm writing this!

Our little Meggy-poo getting ready.

The "Formerly Mueller" girls [this pic will serve as my motivation to a) grow my hair out, b)wear less eye makeup, c) work hard to drop about 15 pounds, and d) buy stock in sunless tanner]

They are married! Megan and Jason Demshar!

I'll let the cats take the reigns again next week, and hopefully they'll have some fun pics or video of Parker to share. This week he's just in no mood for pictures or videos (would YOU be in the mood if you had a fever of 103 and had blisters lining the inside of your mouth??)

Until next time.....
